The Jewish Learning Experience offers a unique opportunity for high school students to not only deepen their connection to Judaism and the Jewish people but to also gain a competitive edge in their academic and professional pursuits. By enrolling in the program, students can earn college credits, accelerating their success and preparing them for future endeavors.

Enrollment in the program is hassle-free and accessible to all. Interested students can simply contact their local synagogue or teen program to inquire about available AJU/JLE classes. If their organization is not a partner, they can contact AJU/JLE to set up a program for their community. Once enrolled, students will work with their local community to determine class schedules and attendance, utilizing both distance and in-person learning tools to maximize their learning potential.

All classes in the Jewish Learning Experience are undergraduate college-level and designed by American Jewish University, ensuring the highest quality education for enrolled students. Upon completion of each term, grades are submitted to AJU’s Office of Registrar Services and recorded on the AJU’s student academic and transcript records, which JLE students can use to demonstrate their academic achievements at future institutions and employers.

Students are strongly encouraged to work with their future academic institution to determine transfer credit eligibility, further enhancing their competitive edge in the college application process. For those with additional questions, AJU/JLE is readily available to provide support and guidance throughout the enrollment process.

Transferability of Credits

Upon completion of your course (including successfully passing the course with a C- letter grade or higher), students will earn a total of 3.0 semester credit hours for each course they enrolled in. The transferability of credits earned at AJU through the Jewish Learning Experience is at the complete discretion of the institution to which you may seek to transfer.
