WORD GRANT 2024: BRUCE GELLER MEMORIAL PRIZE

American Jewish University is pleased to announce the opening of submissions for Word 2024: Bruce Geller Memorial Prize. This year, we are seeking outstanding Jewish-themed essays to be considered for this prestigious award.

The Bruce Geller Memorial Prize celebrates exceptional works of nonfiction that delve into Jewish themes, broadly defined. Whether your piece has been previously published between January 1, 2023, and April 1, 2024, or is an unpublished gem, we encourage you to submit. Multiple works totaling between 750 and 7,500 words may also be entered for consideration.

Key Submission Criteria:

  • Word count: between 750 and 7,500 words
  • Language: English
  • Theme: Jewish themes, interpreted expansively

Between one and three winners will be selected to receive a portion of $7,000 allocated for the Word Grant. This is an excellent opportunity for writers to gain recognition for their insightful explorations of Jewish culture, history, and identity.
