Why do you love ECE?
I decided to pursue my master's degree in Early Childhood Education in order to become a more intentional teacher and individual. I am passionate about literacy and facilitating meaningful Jewish experiences for my students.
What's your favorite class so far?
During my first semester as a student in the Early Childhood Master’s Program at AJU, I participated in a class called B’Tzalmo (In His image): Addressing Special Needs in a Jewish Early Childhood Program. This class focused on reframing our perspective regarding children with special needs. We learned about creating calming spaces within our teaching environment and using conscious discipline as a means of empowering students in the classroom and beyond.
Where do you currently work?
I am an early childhood educator at Sinai Akiba Academy.
What's something that we might not know about you?
I am the author of Once Upon an Apple Cake (2019 National Jewish Book Award Finalist and PJ Library Selection Book) and my forthcoming title, Starlight Soup (2021 PJ Library Selection Book). Both books are published with Apples & Honey Press, an imprint of Behrman House
