AJU's decision to pause undergraduate admissions and sunset the current undergraduate curriculum has no affect on current gap year partnerships nor our accreditation of programs offered by our gap year partners.

Traveling and studying abroad brings exposure to different ideas, people and ways of living. We place great value on the broadened horizons that returning gap year students add to the community. AJU (through the AJU College Initiative - AJUCI) works with several gap year programs to apply credit earned in Israel or another country towards a four-year college degree.

  • Who does AJU partner with for Gap Year credit?

American Jewish University works with a variety of academic partners, both in the United States and Israel, to offer coursework for college credit. Current programs include:

Through the AJU College Initiative (AJUCI), qualified Aardvark Israel and Year Course participants can earn nearly a year’s worth of college credit during their time studying, volunteering, and experiencing Israel.

  • What are the requirements to receive college credit from AJUCI?

In order to be eligible to earn AJUCI credit through one of our collaborating institutions (Aardvark or Young Judea), program participants must show evidence of one of the following academic records:

    • Current enrollment in an accredited two- or four-year college or university, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 and a minimum of one full year completed
    • A high school diploma, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0

Also, please make sure to follow the specific application instructions of your program carefully, including sending (and confirming receipt) of official high school transcripts directly to AJU prior to beginning your program. We highly suggest you follow-up and confirm receipt of official transcripts, as they must be on file in order for you to receive credit for your work.

  • I'm planning on attending another institution for the remainder of my undergraduate studies, how do I get college credit?

Through the AJU College Initiative (AJUCI), qualified Aardvark Israel and Year Course participants can earn nearly a year’s worth of college credit during their time studying, volunteering, and experiencing Israel.  You'll need to request your official transcript from AJUCI be sent to your chosen undergraduate institution following completion of your GAP year.

Please note: Not all credits will transfer to all other colleges & universities.  Please check with your college or university if you have specific questions regarding transferability.
