    The Preschool Lead Teacher is responsible for presenting and explaining learning materials and educating students on new subjects. Lead teachers manage the classroom and collaborate as a team with their assistant teachers to assess students, create learning centers and circle time lessons. To educate students and ensure success, the lead teacher must have a passion for learning, maintain an overall positive attitude, and be energetic about the subjects they teach.     Duties and Responsibilities::

    Cultivates a passion for knowledge among students, engages them to learn, and encourages curiosity and continued development. Creates and prepares daily circle time lessons, which include a variety of teaching materials such as visuals, tactile props, songs, and movement activities. Plans appropriate center activities for each student’s age and learning skill levels, and makes individualized modifications when needed. Submits all weekly lesson plans to the director the Wednesday before each week. Curriculum is prepared before and after expected work hours. Confers with the Director regarding the educational, social, emotional and physical needs and goals of each student. Works with the Director to implement unique and modified programming for all Chagim and holidays. Monitors student progress by assessing students and preparing progress reports. Regularly communicates, collaborates, and maintains a positive relationship with parents and families by means of phone calls, email, conferences (both in person and virtual), and progress reports. Maintains an organized and orderly classroom to promote student creativity and learning. This includes maintaining any outdoor areas/physical spaces used across the campus. Assists with diapering and potty training (this includes keeping track of each student's potty training schedule, takes lead on initiating toileting routine for all students and creates any visuals/reinforcement systems needed for each student). Posts weekly photos and classroom updates with pictures on the Playground app to send out to parents. Records daily attendance on Playground App Records students’ daily meals, diapering, nap schedule on Playground App Attends all staff meetings and school related events.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    12 Core ECE credits. Relevant Early Childhood teaching experience. Positive energy, flexible and understands the importance of collaboration.

    Additional Desirable Qualifications:

    Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education preferred. Reggio Teacher training preferred.

    Sinai Akiba Academy is seeking an engaging, creative, and experienced Jewish Education teacher to join our Lower School teaching team. Jewish Education teachers are assigned two classes in Lower School, not necessarily in the same grade, ranging from kindergarten through 8th grade, and in some cases, an additional Hebrew language course at a particular level. The Director of Congregational learning will plan and implement the synagogue’s adult education program; direct children and family programming for High Holidays and festivals; coordinate Tot Shabbat and Junior Congregation; enhance the synagogue’s programming around Israel, Shabbat and holidays, the Holocaust, and Jewish leadership; and manage the overall lifelong learning needs of the congregation.
