Chana Blugrind

    MAEd in ECE from AJU

    Chana Blugrind is originally from Denmark. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Denmark in Child Development, Special Education and Early Childhood Education. Chana graduated with her MAEd in ECE in May of 2020 from American Jewish University of Los Angeles. Chana has over 25 years of experience in the field of ECE and is especially passionate about creating, supporting and making a developmentally appropriate preschool experience available for all children, as well as offering parenting and caregiver and me classes to support families. When she is not teaching at AJU, she is the director at B'nai Simcha Jewish Community Preschool in Pasadena. 

    Chana has four children of her own ages 8, 10, 12 and 16 and her partner, Yan, has two children ages 9 and 11. Together they have created their own little Brady Bunch. They enjoy taking trips to Palm Springs, camping, hiking and of course, visiting family in Denmark. Chana is also an avid trail runner and has completed multiple ultra marathons. She loves running in the mountains here in Pasadena and this is her favorite form of self-care.

    Rachel Mitzman

     

    Rachel Mitzman has worked in education for 16 years. She started as an assistant teacher in the elementary school at Stephen Wise Temple in Los Angeles and taught many different levels including Pre-K, grade leader and is now teaching TK. She works for the elementary school in their after-school program, Odyssey of the Mind, an international problem-solving competition.

    The Leadership and Sustainability Enterprise (LaSE)

    The Leadership and Sustainability Enterprise at American Jewish University (LaSE) seeks to support mid-level leadership enhancement in schools. The program is specifically designed for department chairs, academic deans, division vice principals and principals, assistant directors, and student life directors among other similar positions in early childhood through high school.

    Emma Schnur

    Emma Schnur has worked in the field of Jewish early childhood education for twelve years. She has a certificate in Jewish Early Childhood Education from Gratz College and is currently earning her MAEd ECE at American Jewish University in a cohort generously funded by the Rodan Family Foundation. She participated in the Jewish Early Childhood Education Leadership Initiative, (JECELI) in the San Francisco Bay Area Cohort.
