All of our MAT students are teaching concurrently to their studies. Most students are full-time educators in Los Angeles area Jewish day schools. We require a minimum of 10 hours per week of teaching as a co-requisite for the program. We understand that balancing work and school is a challenge. Our program is rigorous and we strive to support students as they negotiate the demands of working while completing graduate studies.

While our classrooms are laboratories for theoretical and practical knowledge, our instructors strive to make classroom learning and assessments apply to the work of each student. In addition to being able to use what is learned in classes in their work, our students enjoy creating a community of learning with teachers from different schools. Students come from a variety of backgrounds and teach every age! The cohort experience at AJU is part of what makes the learning here so meaningful.
