Bio
Since receiving his doctorate in Jewish Thought and Theology from Brandeis University, Shai Cherry has served on the faculties of Vanderbilt University, UCLA, and University of San Diego. His first book was Torah through Time: Understanding Bible Commentary from the Rabbinic Period to Modern Times. More recently, Cherry published Coherent Judaism: Constructive Theology, Creation, and Halakhah. A graduate of the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies, Cherry assumed his first pulpit in 2019 at Congregation Adath Jeshurun in Elkins Park, Pennsylvania, where he lives with his wife and the youngest of their three children. Cherry is currently working on his next book, Reconfiguring the Covenant: People, Land, and Torah.
