Israeli TV Takes Center Stage

While Israeli TV series have long inspired television in the US, producer and writer Alon Aranya is at the forefront of redefining groundbreaking television.
With Tehran and Hostages under his creative belt, his newest show, Your Honor, starring Bryan Cranston of Breaking Bad, will air on Showtime December 6. This adaption from the Israeli series Kvodo is a legal thriller that rips through all strata of New Orleans society.

Producer and writer, Alon Aranya, has set up close to 50 scripted shows at US and international studios and networks. His shows include RED WIDOW and BETRAYAL for ABC and HOSTAGES, which he also co-wrote, for CBS. His current shows include TEHRAN, an original APPLE TV international drama thriller, YOUR HONOR starring Bryan Cranston premiering on SHOWTIME and BEST SELLER BOY, an original Dutch dramedy based on the bestseller book by Mano Bouzamur. The show is a co production of the Dutch NPO and CBS Studios International. Alon is currently writing IMPUNITY, an international political thriller set in The Hague for the Dutch NPO. Paper Plane Productions is currently under a First Look deal at Apple TV. The company has production hubs in Israel, Holland and the US. Alon got his BFA at Tel Aviv University in Film and Television and later became a faculty member at NYU Tisch School of the Arts where he got his MFA in Dramatic Writing. He is currently a faculty member at The American Film Institute.

Dr. Rotem Rozental is Chief Curator and Senior Director of Arts and Culture at American Jewish University. Israeli photo-historian, curator, scholar, consultant, lecturer and mother (not necessarily in that order!), she organized exhibitions and mentoring opportunities for artists across the world, and her writings appeared in Artforum.com, Tablet, Philosophy of Photography, Tohu Magazine, and Alaxon, among other outlets. Rotem’s work has been recognized and supported by various organizations, including Artis, Independent Curators International (ICI) and The Center for Jewish History.
