Larry has extensive board experience and is an expert in complex financial planning, strategic planning and thinking, long-term business executive management, culture change and dealing with dynamic external and internal environments.
Larry will be in conversation with Catherine Schneider, an AJU Alumnae and current Vice President of Advancement.

Larry Platt is a businessman, lawyer, and healthcare leadership/governance expert. In 1999, Mr. Platt first became a member of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center’s Board of Directors and continues in this role today. Additionally, he has served on the Cedars-Sinai Medical Care Foundation (Physician/Provider Network) Board since 2005. During his time on the Cedars-Sinai Board of Directors, he served a three-year tenure as Chairman of the Board. Mr. Platt also led Cedars-Sinai’s most ambitious fundraising campaign up until that time when he took on the role of Chairman for their Discovering for Life Campaign from 2005 to 2010, which raised $357 million for Cedars-Sinai Medical Center’s research endowment. Mr. Platt is currently the Chair-Elect of the Cedars-Sinai Health System’s Board of Directors. Mr. Platt has extensive board member experience in healthcare organizations and is an expert in complex financial planning, strategic planning and thinking, long-term business executive management, culture change, dealing with dynamic external and internal environments, and working with healthcare management teams to transform the delivery of care. He is a Senior Partner at Strategy Advantage, a boutique consulting firm specializing in health care. In addition to his role at Cedars-Sinai, he has served on the American Jewish Congress Board of Directors and is currently a member and incoming chair of the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health Advisory Board. Mr. Platt is a member of the Board of Directors and Chair of the Development Committee of the American Jewish University. Past involvement includes the Music Center Leadership Council of Los Angeles, the World Presidents Organization, and the Young Presidents Organization in the Santa Monica Bay Chapter.

Catherine Schneider is AJU's Vice President for Advancement and Chief Development Office. She is a seasoned fundraising and nonprofit professional, with over twenty years experience transforming organizations through development, stewardship and community relations. Ms. Schneider was previously the Executive Vice President, Donor Experience at The Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles. During her tenure at The Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles, Schneider also held the positions of Associate Chief Development Officer and Senior Vice President, External Affairs and Community Engagement. Prior to her time at the Federation, she held leadership and development roles at the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), Progressive Jewish Alliance, and Beit T’Shuvah.
