Rabbi Cheryl Peretz of the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies in Los Angeles goes on Zoom to talk about “The Rabbi Challenge: Finding and Nurturing the Next Generation of Jewish Clergy.” It’s for Kol Rina in South Orange and is scheduled for Sunday, March 19, at 7 p.m.

Since the beginning of the first century, Jewish communities have looked to rabbis to lead and serve.  But recruiting and retaining successful rabbis has grown increasingly complicated due to cultural changes in America and modern Judaism. Rabbi Peretz will lead a discussion about how seminaries are striving to attract and train today’s rabbis, and why the future of the rabbinate is integral to the future of American Jews.
