Event Details

For advanced Yiddish language students: Taught entirely in Yiddish, this class is designed for Yiddish speaking students who want to build vocabulary, conversational and reading skills. We will read great works of Yiddish literature including short stories and poetry, and journey through Yiddish folk traditions, theater, cinema, music, visual arts, and food, as well as social, political and religious life—finding the cultural connections between past and present.

Benny Ferdman

Benny Ferdman is an artist and educator. His adventurous reclamation and reworking of Jewish iconography and Yiddish language has brought him residencies, commissions, and exhibitions. He is Artist-in-Residence at deToledo High School and Co-Founder of the arts organization Creative Ways.
