AFTERNOON SESSION

100-years after the discovery of King Tut's tomb, learn about the boy king in this two-part class. First a lecture and then a visit to the exhibition at the California Science Museum where we'll examine over 150 artifacts from Tut's tomb - many of which have never before traveled outside of Egypt. Our museum visit includes the IMAX movie at 1:30pm: Mysteries of Egypt.

Egyptian religion is both complex and relevant to the development of Judaism (Moses, the Exodus and Passover story). Tut lived in a tumultuous period in Egyptian religion. He had two names representing two different religious movements, a battle between old pantheon and sun based monotheism. Monotheism lost..Or did it? What was its influence on Moses and the development of Judaism? Join us to find out!

  • $55 for lecture and museum visit
  • Parking at the museum is $12 cash
  • Optional audio guide available for $6
  • Lunch available for purchase at the museum or bring your own.
