The MAT degree is designed for practicing educators and professionals who want to strengthen teaching skills, broaden understanding of educational theory, and continue to grow as instructional leaders.
The MAEd degree is an academically engaging and rigorous curriculum designed to incorporate exploration and experimentation in educational leadership and teaching strategies, cohort- and community-building, as well as spiritual, personal, and professional growth.
The MAEd in Early Childhood Education combines academically rigorous courses, individualized mentoring, and a diverse cohort experience to grow leaders and advocates in Jewish early childhood education.
The Bachelor's completion program in Early Childhood Education for those seeking to elevate the knowledge, skills, and performance of the early childhood educator in Jewish educational settings.
Students applying for admission to the Master of Arts in Education degree or the Master of Arts in Teaching degree from the School for Jewish Education and Leadership must have completed a bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) with a competitive grade-point average from an accredited college or university.
The following are strongly recommended:
- Prior experience in teaching or working in an educational setting.
- At least one year of college-level Hebrew or the equivalent Hebrew proficiency.
Students who wish to apply and be accepted to the BA program in ECE must first complete a minimum of 60 lower division units at a community college or other university as our program will only have upper division courses related to the major. Students must complete a minimum of 60 upper division credits in residence at AJU.
Candidates for the MAEd in ECE and the MAT programs are required to be teaching a minimum of 10 hours per week.
