Hitler in Los Angeles with Author Steven Ross
Hitler in Los Angeles: How Jews Foiled Nazi Plots Against Hollywood and America

Join us as we welcome author Steven J. Ross in conversations with Dr. Michael Berenbaum to discuss the chilling, little-known story of the rise of Nazism in Los Angeles and the Jewish leaders and spies recruited to stop it.

No American city was more important to the Nazis than Los Angeles, home to Hollywood, the greatest propaganda machine in the world. The Nazis plotted to kill the city’s Jews and sabotage the nation’s military installations. Leon Lewis, a man the Nazis called “the most dangerous Jew in LA,” ran a spy operation that infiltrated every Nazi group in Los Angeles, and foiled their disturbing plans for death and destruction.

Presented with AJU's Sigi Ziering Institute and the Jewish Historical Society of Los Angeles.
