AJU Community Mission to Vienna and Berlin
Sunday, October 18, 2020 – Monday, October 26, 2020
The AJU Community Mission to Vienna and Berlin is a unique opportunity to experience the paradox of modern Jewish life in Western Europe. We will delve into the legacy, memory and heritage of the historic communities that transformed Jewish life as we live it today.
Through private briefings with high-ranking dignitaries, scholars and in conversation with local Jewish community leaders we will explore how the Jewish communities of Germany and Austria have reinvented themselves after the Holocaust and yet are steadily threatened by new and increasingly violent forms of anti-Semitism. Our mission will culminate with a celebration of the resurgence of European Jewish life as we participate in the ordination of two European Rabbis from the Zacharias Frankel College. To learn more please contact missionsaju.edu.
The Zacharias Frankel College operates under the religious supervision of American Jewish University’s Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies and is the only rabbinic school training and ordaining Masorti/Conservative rabbis in Europe.
